Homecoming 2007
Homecoming 2007 will take place during the weekend of October 19th & 20th at Western Michigan University. Here is an itinerary of the weekend's events:
  • Distinguished Alumni Awards Dinner - October 19 at 6:30 PM
    Jim Hickey, B.A. ’69, ABC News Radio;
    A 27-year veteran of ABC News, Jim Hickey has been an anchor and a correspondent for ABC News Radio since 1995 and is currently the National Correspondent for the ABC Radio Network. Jim Hickey’s broadcasting career began as a freshman at WMU working for WIDR. Hickey was in the anchor chair for ABC News Radio’s special coverage of the terrorist attacks on September 11th, and as National Correspondent has reported extensively on the war on terrorism. In 2005, Hickey won a Murrow Award for the Best Use of Sound in the network radio division. He has also been nominated for a National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences Award.
    Hickey will be honored at the annual Distinguished Alumni Awards Dinner, which will take place Friday, October 19. The reception starts at 6:30 p.m. and dinner follows at 7:15 p.m. in the East Ballroom of the Bernhard Center.   • Ancient Air - October 20 from 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM

  • Tailgate at the Tower - October 20 from 10:30 AM – 12:00 noon
    Saturday morning the School of Communications is hosting the second annual Tailgate at the Tower Open House. The pre-game celebration is from 10:30 AM to 12 noon at Sprau Tower.
